Wife of slain Sorsogon peasant leader killed

SORSOGON CITY, Philippines–Governor Sally Lee has condemned the killing of the wife of peasant leader Willy Jerus of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), whose killing two years ago has yet to be solved.
Lee issued a statement promising to closely monitor the investigation of the killing of Edelina “Eden” Jerus, 37, and ensure justice for the victim.
Two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot Eden dead Tuesday at 10:45 a.m., as she was providing home-cooked food in her residence at San Juan Roro, Sorsogon City.
Eden, a member of Hustisya (Victims of Arroyo Regime United for Justice), suffered four gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Sorsogon Doctors Hospital.
She left behind two sons, aged 10 and 8 years who reportedly watched over their bloodied mother when the gunmen fled, according to neighbors.
Eden’s husband Willy was killed on April 16, 2007.
this is an undeniable case of a politically motivated killing. such cases are steadily rising in our province that were never or seldom heard of during the 70’s when i was still back in Sorsogon then. WHAT’S HAPPENING TO OUR PROVINCE GOVERNOR???

the problem is – most, if not all, of our local leaders including the national leaders are addicted to issuing statements in the media immediately after the incident (pa-pogi points baga) saying that he/she is condemning the extra-judicial killing of so and so, this is barbaric and inhuman blah blah blah, and would begin to make a promise to his/her constituents that he/she would monitor the investigation and put the assailant or mastermind behind bar the soonest and to answer in the bar of justice.
for example, ilang lawyers na sa sorsogon an binadil, tigbak, may nahupol na ba na suspect o killer an kapulisan? Wara. may kinasuhan ba na suspect? Wara.
Sa Bulan, daghanon na man an mga tawo na pinatay (pulis man o supporters san rebelde o aktibista), pero wara man sin kinasuhan dahil an suspect daw deri aram… Anong klaseng imbestigasyon yan?
Ano po ang nangyari sa imbestigasyun? wara.. case closed sabi san police hehehe.
Ano ang nangyayari sa promise ni gobernor o ni meyor na he/she will put the assailant behind bar….wara…. waray upay sabi sa samar!

wara sin suspekt, wara justice an intero na killings, regardless
of motives. kaya an mga tawo, tikum na lang, sunod na lang,
hadukonon an mga local people. Mamunduon ini na mga pangyayari. an mag asawa inubos patayon. wara pagkaluoy maski na lang sa mga bata. Kulang an sayo na buhay pambayad.inubos an tubos.
